Winchester-born Stock set to win first Welsh cap
Winchester-born Brian Stock looks set to make his full international soccer debut for Wales tonight against Russia in the World Cup qualifier at.
Stock was born in the city on December 24, 1981 but qualifies for Wales because a grandmother was born in Cardiff.
Stock is the current captain of Doncaster Rovers and was linked during the summer in transfer talks with premiership Birmingham City but nothing materialised.
He has been in Welsh squads before but failed to make a start although manager John Toshack is expected to include the midfielder tonight at the Millennium Stadium.
Stock began his professional career at Bournemouth and later played briefly for Preston before moving to Doncaster in 2007 for £150,000.
He has played for the Welsh Under 21 team, but a back injury affected his chances last season.
